Summary: The Safety Manager is responsible for providing the leadership to drive the
safety initiatives for all Live Support Operations (i.e. Feed Mills; Loadout Crews;
Vaccination Crews; ERM/Maintenance; Truck Wash; WHSE). Responsible for
developing, implementing and managing all Live Support Operation safety compliance
policies/procedures to ensure compliance with local, state and federal agencies with the
primary emphasis on continuous improvement to effectively control incident and health
exposures in the workplace.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a safety or related field of study with at least 3 years of related
experience preferred; or a minimum of 5
years of related experience or a combination
of education and experience. Proven work history and successful track record of
continuous improvement; developing safety policies/procedures; developing and
delivering safety training to a wide audience and ability to train-the-trainer; OSHA,
EPA knowledge.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Bi-lingual in both English and Spanish is preferred, but not required. Ability to read,
analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports, business
correspondence, and procedural/training manuals. Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and
the general public.
Bottom line :
1. Bachelor's degree in a safety or related field of study preferred.
2. 3
years of safety experience in a live support operation (pork or similar).
3. Successful track record of continuous improvement; developing safety policies
procedures; developing and delivering safety training to a wide audience and ability to
train-the-trainer; OSHA, EPA knowledge.
4. Bilingual English Spanish Preferred.
